Bases and Macerated Oils
Tortue Rouge organic vegetable oils are particularly valuable for their nourishing and skin conditioning characteristics, but can equally be used as carriers to disperse and dilute essential oils.
Our base oils are 100% organic and contain no preservatives. Although this improves their value it does reduce their shelf life, so take special care to store each oil as advised on the bottle label.
Our macerated oils are produced by steeping plant material in the finest organic cold pressed sunflower oil, then leaving for two months until we are sure all the active botanical components have been infused into the oil, before filtering and bottling.
