About Us
Chemical overload is damaging our planet and our health. We wanted to make a difference. So we gave up our day jobs, cashed our savings, upped sticks and relocated to the wilds of the South of France to a region where the air and water are as clear and clean as they can be anywhere in Europe.
We bought an ancient farm, where the land hadn’t been touched for decades, and began growing medicinal and aromatic plants. Then, in March 2008, we opened a training centre in a lovingly restored old building, that we're told was a hospital in the Middle Ages, so as to share our knowledge and lovely location with other people who want to make a difference to their lives and to the planet.
What we do
We make natural health and beauty products that have beneficial properties. We use only the finest 100% organic ingredients. We grow and process as many of them as we can on our 200 acre domaine. Nearly all the range is vegan. Where we do use beeswax, honey and goat’s milk, we tell you.
Our balms and massage oils contain essential oils and herbal tinctures that have been used for centuries to benefit the skin. Many of them are also antibacterial, antifungal and antiseptic. Our floral waters are obtained as a result of distillation from wild crafted or organically grown flowers.
And what we don’t do
We never use SLS – sodium lauryl (or laureth) sulphate – parabens or other irritating chemicals. Nor do we add preservatives or artificial fragrances. We have to use sodium hydroxide to make soap (there’s no other way) but our soaps have met the approval of volunteers who suffer from dermatitis, eczema and other skin irritations.
All of our products are lovingly made by hand.
